Why it helps you grow

The report your buyers ask for before they sign

Many US and international SaaS buyers ask for a SOC 2 report as part of vendor onboarding. Without it, security reviews stall deals — with it, procurement moves.

Unblocks enterprise deals

SaaS buyers, banks and large enterprises commonly require SOC 2 before onboard a vendor that will touch their data.

Answers security questionnaires fast

With controls documented and evidence collected, customer security reviews take days instead of weeks of back-and-forth.

Proves security with independence

An examination by a licensed CPA firm carries the independence customers expect — the people who prepare you are not the people who audit you.

Forces real operational discipline

Access reviews, monitoring, change management and incident drills become routine — which is what reduces incidents in practice.

Pairs with ISO 27001

Many controls overlap. A combined programme lets Indian and global customers see both the certificate and the report, at lower total effort.

Renews every year

Type II reports cover a period and are renewed annually, so the habit of evidence collection sticks — and gets easier each cycle.

In plain language

What SOC 2 actually is

SOC 2 is an independent report, issued by a licensed CPA firm, about how a service organisation protects customer data. It is based on the AICPA Trust Services Criteria: Security is mandatory, and you can also include Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy as additional criteria, chosen to match what your product actually promises.

It is an attestation report, not a certificate. Type I reports whether your controls are designed appropriately at a point in time. Type II reports whether those controls operated effectively over a period, commonly three to twelve months.

We prepare your controls and evidence. Our AICPA-member partner CPA firms perform the independent examination and issue the report.

Who issues the report?

A licensed CPA firm — never us

CyberSwipe prepares your organisation for the examination. The independent SOC 2 report is issued by our partner AICPA-member CPA firms. Consulting and auditing stay separate, which is what makes the assurance credible to your customers.

We coordinate readiness and audit scheduling so you deal with one team, while the auditor's independence stays intact.
Type I or Type II

Which report do you need?

Both start with the same readiness work. The difference is whether you prove design alone, or design plus sustained operation.

The service, step by step

Five steps to examination-ready

Each step has a clear activity, a concrete deliverable and a benefit — so progress is visible and evidence accumulates as you go.

01

Scoping and criteria selection

We define the system boundary — which products, teams and data are in scope — and select the Trust Services Criteria your customers actually ask for. Security is always included; Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy are chosen to match your commitments. You get a clear scope statement, so you never pay to audit more than you need.

02

Gap assessment against the criteria

We interview your team, review systems, configurations and existing documents, and compare everything to the Trust Services Criteria. You get a gap report with a prioritised, costed action plan — so you know exactly where you stand before building anything.

03

Control design and remediation

We design controls that fit how you actually work: access management, change management, monitoring, incident response, vendor management, backup and continuity. We help implement them in your real systems — because controls that only exist on paper cannot pass a Type II examination.

04

Evidence collection and operation

During the observation period, evidence gathers itself: access review records, monitoring logs, change tickets, incident drills and training records, organised the way auditors expect to see them. Your team spends hours, not weeks, when the auditor asks.

05

Readiness review and independent examination

We run a mock readiness review, fix what it finds, then hand over to your AICPA-member CPA partner firm for the independent examination, supporting you through questions and any findings. You get a SOC 2 report issued directly by the CPA firm.

Independent examination

Consulting and auditing stay separate

CyberSwipe prepares your organisation. Independent audit and attestation work — including SOC 2 examinations — is carried out by our partner AICPA-member CPA firms.

This keeps consulting and auditing separate, which protects the independence your customers and regulators expect, and gives you a single coordinated path from readiness to report.

Why it matters

Genuinely independent assurance

If the people who prepare you are the people who audit you, the assurance is not independent. Separating the two roles is how credible assurance should work — and it is what your customers expect when they ask for a SOC 2 report.

ISO 27001 vs SOC 2

Which one do your buyers ask for?

Both rest on many of the same controls. The difference is the format of the assurance — and who tends to ask for it.

Who benefits most

Built for service organisations selling on trust

If a buyer's security review is part of your sales cycle, SOC 2 readiness turns that review from a blocker into a document you attach.

SaaS selling to the US

US and international SaaS buyers frequently make SOC 2 a condition of vendor onboarding.

Fintech and payments

Banks, processors and regulated partners want documented, independently examined controls before sharing data or flow.

BPO and outsourcing

International clients entrust you with their customer data and expect assurance before they sign.

Health and education platforms

Platforms handling sensitive records face growing customer demands for independent proof of safeguards.

Enterprise vendors

Suppliers to large corporations answer security questionnaires at every deal — a report answers them once.

Startups in enterprise pilots

Close your first enterprise deals faster by passing the security review that stalls competitors.

Typical timeline

How long SOC 2 takes

Readiness is usually weeks; Type II then observes your controls operating over the chosen window. Durations below are typical — we confirm a plan and price after scoping.

Phase Typical duration
Scoping and gap assessment1 to 2 weeks
Control design and remediation4 to 8 weeks
Evidence operating (Type II observation window)3 to 12 months, commonly chosen per buyer requirements

FAQs

SOC 2 questions, answered

An independent report from a licensed CPA firm about how your company protects customer data, based on the AICPA Trust Services Criteria — Security is mandatory, plus optional Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy.

No. SOC 2 is an attestation report, not a certificate. A Type I report covers design at a point in time; a Type II report covers operation over a period, commonly three to twelve months.

Our partner AICPA-member CPA firms perform the independent examination and issue the report. We prepare your controls and evidence — consulting and auditing stay separate.

Ask your buyers. Type I is often accepted for a first report; most enterprise and US SaaS buyers eventually require Type II, because it proves the controls actually operated over time.

Readiness typically takes 6 to 10 weeks. A Type II report then requires your controls to operate over the observation window — commonly three to twelve months — before the examination.

Yes. Many controls overlap, so a combined programme saves time and cost — you get the certificate for Indian and global buyers and the report for US and SaaS buyers, from one body of work.

We quote a fixed fee for readiness after the scoping call. CPA firm examination fees are separate and quoted directly by the auditor; costs also depend on scope size and the observation window chosen.

Type II reports are renewed annually, so evidence collection becomes part of your routine. We offer ongoing support: evidence tracking, control reviews and preparation for each year's examination.
